Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cameron Boozer delivered a stellar performance to hand the Golden State Warriors a devastating 111-108 defeat at Chase Center. The 19-year-old forward rallied his team from a 12-point deficit with under four minutes remaining in the game, securing the victory with a turnaround jumper with 20.1 seconds left on the clock.

The win pushed the Grizzlies to a 2-0 start to the season, while dropping the Warriors to 0-2. During Memphis's decisive late-game surge, the home team managed to score only two points, leading to a stunning fourth-quarter collapse that left Golden State veterans searching for answers.

Boozer finished the contest with a masterclass stat line of 25 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and two steals. He shot 6-for-13 from the floor, made four of seven attempts from beyond the arc, and converted all nine of his free throws, making him the second-youngest player in Grizzlies franchise history to record a double-double.

Reflecting on the painful defeat, Stephen Curry admitted that the manner of the loss would likely cost him some sleep. "There's losses, and then there's ways that you lose like tonight that kind of sting a little bit more, so you gotta... you know... The nature of the NBA: everybody says there's another game tomorrow, but the idea of how important every game is for us to build the right habits, the right execution, mentality to try to win," Curry said postgame.

Curry paced the Warriors with 24 points, though he struggled from the field by shooting 5-for-15 overall and 3-for-10 from three-point range. Ty Jerome added 28 points and five assists for Memphis, and Jaylen Wells contributed 17 points, including crucial free throws to help fuel the comeback.

The game also featured an early injury scare for Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski, who returned to action after taking a hard fall and a blow to the face from Memphis center Zach Edey less than four minutes into his season debut. Podziemski retreated to the locker room with a heating pad around his lower back, but quickly re-emerged to finish the night with 18 points.

Despite his strong start, Podziemski indicated he would sit out the second half of the Warriors' back-to-back against the Phoenix Suns. Meanwhile, Boozer and the undefeated Grizzlies move on to face the Sacramento Kings as the rookie continues to make an immediate impact at the professional level.
