Constance Wu and Chris Pratt Return for The Terminal List Season 2
The hit Prime Video thriller series returns with its second season while actress Constance Wu also shares exciting updates about the upcoming Crazy Rich Asians television sequel.
Actress Constance Wu and co-star Chris Pratt are currently celebrating the release of the second season of the hit Prime Video series The Terminal List, which is now streaming globally. After a four-year wait for the latest installment, the eight-part espionage thriller brings back core cast members to continue the globe-trotting narrative. The official synopsis explains that the new season follows Navy SEAL Commander James Reece, played by Pratt, as he seeks a new purpose and works to clear his name by confronting a resurgent terrorist group with connections that reach from Moscow to Langley and deep into his own family history.
Based on Jack Carr's second novel, True Believer, the sophomore season features the return of several major characters alongside Pratt. Constance Wu reprises her role as journalist Katie Buranek, joining returning cast members Tom Hopper as Raife Hastings, Dar Salim as Mohammed Farooq, and Luke Hemsworth as Jules Landry, alongside new addition Gabriel Luna as Freddy Strain.
Discussing the production of the new episodes, Pratt highlighted the unique contributions of military veterans involved in the series. The actor noted that having veterans and active personnel on set, including director Ray Mendoza, brought an authentic sense of discipline and tactical precision to the project. "These guys are really special," Pratt said, emphasizing how their professional background helped shape the authentic feel of the production both in front of and behind the camera.
For Wu, stepping back into her character involved some unexpected acting partners, including a surprise appearance by media personality Bill Maher. The actress praised Maher's professional approach during their fake talk show segment, noting that he was completely prepared and delivered a natural performance. "He was completely off-book. He wasn't nervous. He wasn't anything. He was just himself," Wu stated.
Beyond her work on Prime Video, Wu recently shared major updates regarding another prominent project in her career. During an appearance on TODAY, she discussed the upcoming HBO television series sequel to the 2018 blockbuster romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians. Wu revealed that she has seen the script for the eight-episode series and offered high praise for the direction of the project.
"I love it, it’s very funny," Wu told co-hosts Laura Jarrett, Dylan Dreyer, and Craig Melvin. She expressed enthusiasm for working alongside original co-writer and showrunner Adele Lim, stating that the creative team is in capable hands. The upcoming television adaptation will draw from Kevin Kwan’s bestselling trilogy and is scheduled to begin filming next year in New York, with original cast members including Henry Golding, Ronny Chieng, and Michelle Yeoh expected to reprise their roles.
As fans begin streaming the new episodes of The Terminal List, conversations about the long-term future of the franchise are already underway. While Prime Video has not yet announced a third season, Pratt and the production team have expressed enthusiasm for adapting more of Carr's extensive book series. For now, audiences can stream the entire second season on Prime Video as the cast balances current releases with upcoming television projects.
