Customer Complaints Highlight Delivery Delays at BBVA

Online banking users report persistent issues regarding delayed debit card deliveries and difficulties accessing their accounts.

Recent customer complaints have shed light on operational hurdles at BBVA, particularly concerning the delivery of debit cards for newly opened online accounts. Consumers have voiced frustrations over significant delays that leave vulnerable account holders unable to access funds.

According to a public complaint filed by a customer regarding an online account opened in early September for an elderly relative, the requested debit card failed to arrive after more than two months of waiting, despite being reissued twice.

The affected customer noted that the prolonged delay has rendered an elderly individual unable to properly manage or operate their own funds. While customer support representatives suggested alternative methods to conduct banking operations, the complainant stated those options were unfeasible for the account holder.

Furthermore, the complaint criticized the digital system's automated approach, which reportedly continues to offer repetitive card reissues without resolving the underlying fulfillment failure or providing viable alternative solutions.

In response to the persistent delivery roadblocks, the customer formally requested that the physical card be redirected for pickup directly to a local branch, specifically targeting the BBVA office located along National Highway 340 in Torrox Costa, Andalusia.

These ongoing logistical challenges highlight broader service delivery concerns that financial institutions face as they expand digital onboarding processes while maintaining reliable physical touchpoints for all demographics.
