Dunkin' Gives Away One Million Free Coffees in App Promotion

The coffee chain launched a massive giveaway on Wednesday, offering free drinks to the first one million customers who enter a specific promo code.

Dunkin' surprised coffee enthusiasts on Wednesday, October 21, by launching a giveaway for one million free coffees available through its mobile application. The promotion began at noon Eastern Time, giving app users a chance to score a complimentary beverage while supplies lasted.

To claim the offer, customers must log into the Dunkin' app, navigate to the offers section, and enter the promo code SIZEDOESNTMATTER. The code unlocks a certificate for a free coffee, which is limited to one per customer across the first one million successful claims.

The social media takeover behind the campaign is being fronted by Spidey D, the brand's spider donut character. According to the fictional social media manager's posts, the character seized control of the company's accounts and content calendars to orchestrate the massive giveaway for fans.

Sources report slight variations regarding the exact eligible drink options for the promotion. While some announcements specify that the code applies to an iced coffee of any size, other reports indicate the offer is valid for a medium hot or iced coffee, or any coffee drink of the customer's choosing.

Customers who successfully claim the code in the app do not need to redeem the drink immediately. The resulting free coffee certificate remains valid for five days following the promo code entry, giving users until October 26 to pick up their beverages.

The timing of the giveaway coincides with Dunkin's seasonal Halloween menu rollout. The festive lineup features a variety of specialty items, including the Terror-misu Cloud Latte, Nutty Nightmare Iced Coffee, Creepy Crawler Coffee Chiller, Franki Matcha, and several flavored zero-sugar energy drinks and refreshers.

Because the promotion is strictly capped at one million redemptions, availability depends entirely on speed. Representatives noted that customers aiming to secure the freebie needed to act quickly after the code dropped at noon ET on Wednesday.
