IMSS and ISSSTE Pensioners to Receive Year-End Bonuses and November Payments

Retired workers under specific social security systems in Mexico will receive their regular monthly pensions and holiday bonuses starting in November 2026.

Retired public sector workers and individuals registered under the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) will receive an additional year-end bonus alongside their regular pensions in November 2026. However, qualification for this bonus depends entirely on the specific retirement system and the legal framework under which beneficiaries contributed during their working years.

For IMSS beneficiaries, eligibility for the annual bonus is strictly limited to individuals receiving retirement pensions for Old Age or Severance in Old Age under the legal framework active prior to July 1, 1997, commonly known as Law 73. This benefit equals one month of the base pension amount, excluding family allowances or health assistance subsidies. Individuals who began contributing after that date under the 1997 framework do not qualify for this specific holiday bonus.

The IMSS has scheduled the regular monthly pension deposit for November 2026 to be distributed on Monday, November 2, 2026. According to the institution's annual financial schedule, qualified pensioners under Law 73 will also receive their corresponding one-month bonus during the month of November, deposited directly into their registered bank accounts.

In contrast, the Institute for Social Security and Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) follows a different disbursement schedule for its retired affiliates. The official ISSSTE calendar distributes the holiday bonus into two separate installments rather than a single lump sum. The first part of the bonus is scheduled for distribution during the first half of November 2026, while the second part is outlined in the organization's annual payment plan.

The ISSSTE also established specific dates for its standard monthly provisions as the year concludes. The pension payment corresponding to November will be advanced to October 29, 2026, while the December disbursement is formally scheduled for release on November 27, 2026.

Beyond contributory pensions managed by the IMSS and ISSSTE, Mexico's broader retirement landscape includes non-contributory welfare programs provided by the government to support vulnerable senior citizens who lack formal retirement savings or work histories.

Financial authorities and social security administrators advise beneficiaries to follow specific safety recommendations when collecting their funds. Pensioners are encouraged to visit financial institutions a day or two after the official deposit dates to avoid crowded spaces, utilize authorized retail stores for cash withdrawals, and employ online banking services for everyday purchases and bill payments.
