The National Football League, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced on Monday that Jay-Z will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show. The performance will take place on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, coinciding with Valentine's Day. The announcement was made during the broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game.

For the past several years, Jay-Z's entertainment company, Roc Nation, has partnered with the NFL to advise on and help produce the league's entertainment presentations and select the halftime headliners. Although he initially told NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell that he would not perform when they first formed their partnership in 2019, the rapper has finally decided to step into the spotlight himself.

"From Reasonable Doubt to standing on the Super Bowl Halftime stage, this has been a journey," Jay-Z said in a statement. "Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell revealed that he always hoped the iconic artist would eventually perform. "When we first reached an agreement with Roc Nation to produce the show, I had just one request: that Jay-Z take the stage himself one day, whenever the moment felt right to him," Goodell said.

The timing aligns with a milestone era for the 56-year-old artist, who has been celebrating the 30th anniversary of his 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt, along with the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. His recent anniversary run included sold-out stadium shows in New York, London, Paris, and Los Angeles at SoFi Stadium itself.

The Super Bowl halftime show has seen massive television audiences and major growth in popularity since partnering with Roc Nation. Recent headliners include Kendrick Lamar, Usher, and Bad Bunny, whose performances have regularly shattered viewership records and collected numerous Emmy Awards.

Roc Nation will executive produce the upcoming halftime performance, with Hamish Hamilton directing the broadcast. The event will be televised across ABC, ESPN, Disney+, and NFL+, ensuring a multi-platform viewing experience for fans worldwide.
