Real Madrid secured a crucial 2-1 victory against Barcelona at the Camp Nou, courtesy of a stellar performance from Kylian Mbappé. The French forward netted two goals, including a decisive strike late in the match, which brought his career total to 100 goals for the club. The win halted Barcelona's impressive nine-match winning streak at the start of the domestic season and breathed new life into the championship battle.

Manager José Mourinho, back in charge of Real Madrid for this fixture for the first time since 2013, deployed a tactical setup that frustrated the hosts. Barcelona dominated possession with 62 percent of the ball, yet struggled to break down a resilient Madrid defense. The visitors capitalized on swift counterattacks, exploiting the spaces left by the Catalan side.

The opening goal arrived five minutes before halftime through a stroke of fortune. Yan Diomande delivered a low cross into the penalty area, and Barcelona defender Gerard Martín inadvertently cleared the ball against the onrushing Mbappé, sending it past goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Despite trailing, Barcelona pushed forward after the intermission.

The home side equalized in the 61st minute when Pedri delivered a reverse pass to Raphinha, who fired a cross-legged shot past goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. Buoyed by the goal, Barcelona increased the pressure and nearly took the lead, but Lunin made a remarkable one-handed save to deny a header from Martín, while Lamine Yamal narrowly missed the target with a close-range effort.

As Barcelona chased a winning goal in the closing minutes, Real Madrid struck decisively on the break. In the 87th minute, Arda Güler initiated a swift transition by finding Eduardo Camavinga, who eluded Pau Cubarsí and cut the ball back to Mbappé. The forward calmly tapped it into the net to secure the three points.

Following the match, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick expressed dissatisfaction with his team's performance, pointing to a lack of freshness after a midweek Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Meanwhile, Mourinho praised his squad's tactical discipline and organization under demanding circumstances.

The result leaves Barcelona at the top of the standings with 27 points, closely followed by Atlético de Madrid with 25 points and Real Madrid with 24 points. The narrow three-point margin among the top contenders promises a highly competitive remainder of the La Liga season.
