LEGO Announces First Official Godzilla Set Standing Over Two Feet Tall

LEGO has officially unveiled its first-ever building set featuring the King of the Monsters, a towering 5,363-piece model based on Legendary's MonsterVerse. Scheduled for release on November 27, the massive creation stands at over 27.5 inches tall when assembled with its signature Heat Ray and is priced at $449.99.

The intricate design captures the iconic kaiju with textured scaly skin built from gray bricks, jagged blue dorsal fins, and a sweeping tail that can be adjusted. Builders can also pose the creature using movable shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers, alongside a swappable tongue or Heat Ray element to recreate an upward roar.

The project originates from the LEGO Ideas crowdsourcing platform, where New York-based fan designer Matthew Esposito submitted the concept. After gathering the required 10,000 supporter votes, the design underwent a selection process by the LEGO Ideas Review Board before being approved for production.

Reflecting on the milestone, Esposito shared in a statement, "Building LEGO Godzilla was a real passion project. I've loved both LEGO building and Godzilla for years, so I wanted to capture his shape, scale and character as accurately as I could. The head was definitely the biggest challenge, but seeing the model come together and eventually reach 10,000 supporters after more than two years was incredible."

Amber Sheppo, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products and Partnerships at Legendary Entertainment, also expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. "We were thrilled to partner with the LEGO Group to bring our titan to life in brick form," Sheppo stated, praising the partnership from the original vision to the final product.

The new model marks the largest creature ever designed by LEGO and will be available exclusively through LEGO stores and the official website. Shoppers who purchase the set between November 27 and November 30 will also receive a complimentary 359-piece LEGO Ideas Godzilla Logo and Footprint set as a special gift with purchase, while supplies last.
