Civista Bancshares shares climbed 5.2% to close at $28.15 following the release of its third-quarter 2026 financial results. The bank reported an earnings per share of roughly $0.77 and a net income of approximately $16.0 million, reflecting an 8.7% increase in revenue to $47.79 million compared to the same period in the previous year. Optimists point to core deposit growth and a net interest margin reaching 3.93% as evidence of steady earnings power, while concerns remain regarding intense deposit market competition and loan mix pressures.

In the technology sector, Infosys lowered its full-year revenue growth guidance for fiscal year 2027 to 1% to 2%, down from its previous projection of 1.5% to 3%. Group CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka cited softer second-quarter performance, lower volumes, pricing pressures, and reduced discretionary spending in the retail and high-tech sectors as reasons for the adjustment. Despite the trimmed revenue expectations, Infosys maintained its EBIT margin guidance at 20% to 22%.

During the post-earnings discussion, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh emphasized the growing impact of artificial intelligence on the company's business. Parekh stated that artificial intelligence contributed 10.5% to the company's second-quarter revenue, representing a 29% sequential increase. He also noted that large mega deals are projected to contribute 1% to revenue growth next year, with the company maintaining strict economic criteria for new contracts.

Crude oil futures traded higher as markets weighed ongoing supply concerns driven by attacks on Middle East infrastructure against steady export volumes. December WTI crude futures advanced, while December Brent crude futures climbed above historical highs. Analysts noted that traders continue to price in a security premium due to geopolitical tensions, even as Middle East exports remained near 17 million barrels per day last week.

The rising price of oil and associated inflation concerns have placed downward pressure on gold prices, despite falling United States Treasury yields and persistent geopolitical risks. According to OCBC strategists Christopher Wong and Sim Moh Siong, gold experienced renewed selling pressure and fell more than 2.5% overnight. Strategists remain cautious, noting that stabilization in gold will likely require easing oil prices and lower real yields.

In professional sports, Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet sustained a leg injury during a game and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest. The former Notre Dame star was carted off the field late in the fourth quarter following a hard catch, leaving the team without a key offensive presence as they worked to secure a 27-21 victory.
