Miranda Lambert Headlining Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Halftime Show
The country music superstar will perform during the 30th annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff at AT&T Stadium.
Country music star Miranda Lambert has been announced as the headliner for the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day halftime show, where the team will face the Philadelphia Eagles on November 26 at AT&T Stadium. The performance marks a major homecoming for the East Texas-raised singer, who will take the field for a nationally televised audience on FOX.
The upcoming performance serves as the 30th consecutive Salvation Army Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show, a tradition that began in 1997 with Reba McEntire. The event also coincides with the 136th Red Kettle Campaign, which has raised more than $3.4 billion for people in need over the decades through its partnership with the Cowboys.
Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys, highlighted the significance of reaching the three-decade milestone. Past performers to take the Thanksgiving stage include major acts such as Dolly Parton, Beyoncé and Destiny's Child, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Post Malone, and Lainey Wilson.
Lambert expressed enthusiasm about returning to her home state for the holiday tradition. "There's something special about how music brings people together, especially when it's to spread joy and hope to families who need it most," Lambert stated, adding that she is eager to help carry forward the legacy built by the team and the organization.
In addition to her upcoming holiday performance, Lambert recently reflected on a challenging chapter in her personal and professional life. During an appearance on the podcast And The Writer Is…, the Grammy-winning artist opened up about her 2015 divorce from fellow country music star Blake Shelton, describing the period as a difficult and unvarnished time spent in the public eye.
Following her return to Nashville after the split, Lambert channeled her emotional turmoil into her songwriting. She noted that she spent her downtime with a guitar and wrote roughly 75 songs within a year, fueling what would become her critically acclaimed 2016 double album, The Weight of These Wings.
The post-divorce record debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and featured raw, honest tracks about heartbreak and healing, including the hit single "Tin Man." Lambert noted that while the period was marked by personal misery, the resulting vulnerability and creative growth made laying her emotions out through music entirely worthwhile.
Both artists have since moved on, with Lambert marrying retired police officer Brendan McLoughlin in 2019 and Shelton marrying singer Gwen Stefani in 2021. Today, Lambert balances her milestone career achievements with high-profile performances like the upcoming Thanksgiving matchup in Arlington, Texas.
