OGC Nice secured a 2-1 away victory against Stade Brestois on Friday night at the Stade Francis-Le Blé during the eighth round of the French Ligue 1 season. Despite entering the match dealing with notable defensive shortages, the home side initially took control before Nice responded with two goals in the second half to claim all three points.

Brest entered the fixture missing key defensive personnel. Club captain Brendan Chardonnet and his usual center-back partner Raphael Le Guen were both sidelined due to injuries. Consequently, manager Julien Lachuer deployed Gautier Lloris and Lucas Tousart in central defense, while midfielder Hugo Magnetti captained the Breton club in Chardonnet's absence.

The tactical setup appeared to work for the hosts in the opening period. Ludovic Ajorque broke the deadlock for Brest in the 15th minute, scoring his team's lone goal of the match and giving Les Ty Zéfs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

However, Nice mounted a successful comeback after the break. Elye Wahi leveled the score in the 61st minute, striking past the Brest defense to make it 1-1. The visitors continued to press as the second half progressed, looking for a winner on enemy turf.

The decisive moment arrived in the 83rd minute when Sofiane Diop scored Nice's second goal of the match. Diop's late strike completed the comeback and sealed the 2-1 victory for the visiting side, leaving the home supporters disappointed after a strong start.

The match also featured several disciplinary actions from the officiating crew. Brest players Kamory Doumbia, Ludovic Ajorque, and Bradley Locko received yellow cards. On the other side, Nice accumulated cautions for Hamza Kutune, Elye Wahi, Yehvann Diouf, Niels Nkounkou, and Isac Jansson.

Following this result, Nice climbed to eighth place in the Ligue 1 standings with 11 points accumulated over the first eight rounds. Meanwhile, Brest dropped to the 11th position in the league table, remaining static with nine points as the domestic campaign continues.
