Parma Defeats Atalanta 3-0 in Serie A

Parma pulled off a surprising 3-0 victory against Atalanta at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, marking Alberto Gilardino's first win since taking charge of the club. The match concluded on Monday, November 2, 2026, delivering a much-needed boost for Parma while extending Atalanta's winless streak in Serie A to four matches.

Despite dominating the opening half hour and controlling nearly 70 percent of possession, Maurizio Sarri's squad struggled to convert their chances. Atalanta entered the fixture facing a severe injury crisis that left them with only 19 players called up, missing several regular contributors on the sidelines.

Parma capitalized on a set piece in the 41st minute to break the deadlock. Vincent Sierro swung in a corner kick, allowing Giovanni Fabbian to head home from close range and give the visitors a 1,0 lead heading into halftime.

The situation deteriorated further for the hosts just two minutes into the second half. Davide Zappacosta stretched to intercept a cross and inadvertently diverted the ball into his own net, doubling Parma's advantage to 2,0.

Parma sealed the match in the 58th minute when Fabbian set up Simone Lontani. Lontani curled a strike from outside the penalty area into the bottom-right corner of the goal, extending the lead to 3,0.

Atalanta attempted to mount a comeback by introducing substitutes, but Parma goalkeeper Giovanni Daffara delivered an inspired performance. Daffara made crucial saves, while Mario Pašalić hit the crossbar with a close-range header as Parma successfully maintained a clean sheet.

With this result, Parma climbed out of the relegation zone to reach eight points in the standings, while Atalanta remained on 11 points in the lower half of the table following the unexpected home defeat.
