Prince William made a surprise appearance on "The Graham Norton Show," taking a seat alongside singer Jorja Smith, actress Cate Blanchett, Hannah Waddingham, and conservationist Robert Irwin. The episode, recorded on a Thursday and broadcast in the United Kingdom on Friday, brought together prominent figures involved with the Earthshot Prize, an environmental initiative spearheaded by the royal.

During his conversation with host Graham Norton, the Prince of Wales discussed how he unwinds from his official duties through music and film. He expressed a strong appreciation for director Christopher Nolan, singling out "The Dark Knight" series as a prime example of psychologically deep and entertaining cinema.

"I love getting immersed in deep-thinking films," the prince told the audience. Praise was directed at Nolan's ability to take unusual concepts and make them entertaining, noting that he is a big fan of everything the filmmaker produces.

Shifting to television, the royal revealed that he and his family are avid fans of the competition program "The Traitors." He shared that his two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are particularly obsessed with the show, calling it great television.

The conversation also touched on his childhood aspirations. When asked if he had ever wanted a different career, the prince mentioned that he originally wanted to become a police officer and briefly considered trying to be a DJ, though he admitted he was not very good at it.

The primary focus of the television appearance, however, was to highlight the Earthshot Prize, which was founded in 2020 to celebrate and scale solutions aimed at repairing the planet by 2030. The prince explained that the awards were created to counter environmental doom and gloom with optimism and urgency.

"For many years I was hearing stories about environment issues and one thing that struck me was the negativity and doom which got me down," the future king stated, explaining the motivation behind establishing the initiative to highlight individuals protecting the world.

In addition to discussing environmental efforts and television preferences, the royal participated in the program by helping judge audience members who shared humorous personal stories on stage.
