Red Bull Bragantino and Santos square off this Monday at 8:00 p.m. at the Cícero de Souza Marques stadium in Bragança Paulista, opening the 34th round of the 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro. The fixture carries significant weight as both sides fight directly for a position in the 2027 Copa Libertadores.

Entering the match, Santos holds the eighth position in the standings with 47 points, while Red Bull Bragantino sits closely behind in ninth place with 44 points. Municipal authorities in Bragança Paulista implemented a special traffic operation starting Monday afternoon, closing key streets near the sports complex to manage fan arrivals from neighboring areas like Atibaia.

Santos manager Cuca enters the crucial encounter facing a substantial list of absences. Star player Neymar is unavailable due to a suspension stemming from a red card and accumulated yellow cards, compounded by an additional penalty from the sports tribunal. In addition, midfielder João Schmidt is suspended, and several players including Lucas Veríssimo, Willian Arão, Thaciano, Gonzalo Escobar, Vinícius Lira, and Gabriel Brazão remain sidelined with injuries.

Despite the extensive list of absentees, Cuca maintained a composed stance regarding his objectives for the club. "I am focused on the remaining games, I have a contract until December 31 and I will fulfill it until the end. Our goal is to put Santos in the highest position possible," the coach stated.

On the opposing side, Red Bull Bragantino manager Vagner Mancini enters the contest following a 3-0 victory over Chapecoense. The team welcomes back goalkeeper Tiago Volpi and midfielder Gabriel after they served suspensions, while missing a few pieces due to tactical changes as they aim to close the three-point gap with their visitors.

Mancini emphasized his team's aspirations for the remainder of the season. "Obviously we continue with our goal of reaching the Libertadores. If it is not possible to reach it, let us at least have a favorable outcome in the championship," Mancini remarked.

Historically, Santos holds the overall advantage with 25 wins in 55 matches against Bragantino. However, the visitors face a four-year winless drought playing away against this opponent, having last secured an away victory in Bragança Paulista on October 17, 2022. The fixture will be broadcast on Sportv and Premiere.
