Former Brazilian star Ronaldinho is officially scheduled to make his competitive return to football on November 15, playing for Italian Serie C club Ravenna in a regional derby against Forlì. The match will take place at the Stadio Bruno Benelli at 17:30 local time, marking his first official appearance since leaving Fluminense in 2015.

Ravenna announced the historic date following months of anticipation after signing the legendary playmaker earlier this year. Club president Ignazio Cipriani expressed excitement over the upcoming event, stating that they turned an idea that many considered impossible into a reality that supporters eagerly await. "On November 15, Ronaldinho will step onto the pitch at the Benelli Stadium wearing our jersey in a game as important as the derby against Forlì," Cipriani said.

Ronaldinho, who also holds a minority ownership stake in the club and is launching his R10 brand through the partnership, shared his enthusiasm for returning to the pitch. "I cannot wait to dance with the ball again and write a new story alongside Ignazio and the entire Cipriani family," the 46-year-old said. "Football has always been a source of joy for me, and I want to bring that same spirit to Ravenna."

Founded in 1913 and based in the Emilia-Romagna region, Ravenna currently sits second in Serie C Group B with 20 points after 10 matches, trailing league leaders Spezia by eight points. The club has high ambitions of earning promotion back to Serie B, and the upcoming derby is projected to draw unprecedented attention as coach Andrea Mandorlini determines how many minutes the Brazilian icon will play.

Meanwhile, the Italian city of Ravenna has also been making local news in the United States through unrelated community developments. Portage County commissioners recently addressed concerns raised by a local resident regarding the community fallout from a political advertisement in an upcoming gubernatorial race, highlighting potential impacts on abuse victims and children in Ohio.

In separate regional news, Ravenna City Schools recently faced scrutiny after records revealed that a school bus driver involved in a minor collision last month had a history of accidents and disciplinary issues during previous employment with neighboring districts. The Ohio State Highway Patrol cited the driver for a lanes-of-travel violation following the September 18 incident, which resulted in minor injuries and no hospitalizations.
