More than a year after the death of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne, has opened up about their final moments together and her ongoing journey with grief. Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, at the family’s estate in Buckinghamshire, England. According to his death certificate, the musician suffered a cardiac arrest and acute myocardial infarction, with coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease listed as contributing health conditions.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Sharon recalled the quiet and emotional interaction they shared during the night before his passing. She explained that Ozzy woke up and made a simple request. "We’d spoken in the night. Ozzy had woken in the night, and he asked me to kiss him twice, and I did," she remembered. She added that he then asked her to hold him tight, a request she fulfilled before falling back asleep.

The next morning, someone rushed into her bedroom to tell her to come downstairs immediately. By the time she reached him, he had suffered a heart attack while preparing for his morning routine. Paramedics and an air ambulance arrived, but efforts to save him were unsuccessful. Sharon explained that she chose to bury her husband in the garden of their family home rather than in a public cemetery to protect his final resting place from continuous disruption. "There was no way I could put Ozzy in a public graveyard," she noted, stating that she wanted him to rest peacefully where people would not constantly gather to pay respects.

Reflecting on the months following his death, Sharon admitted that the emotional weight of losing her partner of over four decades remains heavy. "You’ve lost the love of your life, so you don’t just wake up and go, 'I'm fine now. I'm cured,'" she said. "You never get over it. But you learn to live with it, and that’s what I’m trying to do." She noted that she visits his grave daily, as it is visible from her window.

Just weeks before his death, Ozzy achieved a final career milestone by performing with Black Sabbath at a farewell concert titled "Back to the Beginning" in his hometown of Birmingham on July 5, 2025. Despite suffering from severe back injuries, pneumonia, and warnings from doctors due to a weakened heart, the singer insisted on taking the stage. Sharon shared that the positive reviews he received after the performance brought him immense joy during his final days, making him feel alive again after years of health struggles.

In addition to coping with her loss, Sharon has recently listed their longtime Los Angeles home in Hancock Park for $17 million as she divides her time between the United States and the United Kingdom. Meanwhile, the family continues to honor his legacy, with upcoming projects including a concert film documenting his final performance slated for cinematic release.
