TechGym has officially launched its latest mobile application, a soccer-themed strategy game titled Offside Trap. The game is currently available for download on Android devices via the Google Play store, while an iOS version remains under review for future release.

The game challenges players to control a defensive line during high-stakes soccer scenarios. By focusing on the timing of the defensive line, users learn to identify when to execute an offside trap against opposing forwards. The gameplay mechanics require players to react at the precise moment a pass is initiated, simulating the decision-making process used by professional teams and referees.

To assist players in understanding the sport's regulations, the game features a slow-motion function that triggers at the moment of a pass. This visual aid displays the positioning of the second-to-last defender relative to the receiver, mirroring the technology used in Video Assistant Referee (VAR) systems. When a successful offside trap is executed, the game provides an explanation of the ruling to reinforce the learning experience.

The application includes 13 randomized scenarios, ensuring that player positioning and defensive challenges vary with each session. Players are tasked with stopping as many offensive threats as possible within a set of 10 plays. The game also incorporates specific rules, such as identifying situations where offside does not apply, including throw-ins, corner kicks, and goal kicks. Users must choose between raising the defensive line or selecting a 'Mark' button to defend against these specific plays.

For those looking to refine their skills, the game offers a navigation mode that provides guidance during play. TechGym notes that users can earn higher scores by disabling these navigation prompts once they have mastered the mechanics. The developer has previously released other sports-oriented titles, such as a game focused on corner kick strategies, as part of their broader collection of educational applications.

The release of Offside Trap continues TechGym's efforts to integrate sports education with mobile gaming. By simulating Law 11 of the Laws of the Game, the developer aims to provide an accessible platform for both soccer enthusiasts and those looking to better understand the nuances of defensive play on the field.
