2028 Audi A6 Allroad Debuts with Advanced Tech and Air Suspension
Audi expands its latest vehicle generation with a high-riding wagon blending luxury utility and a turbocharged V-6 engine.
The Audi A6 Allroad is returning for a new generation in 2028, offering an automotive combination of SUV ride height, off-road capabilities, and wagon utility. Blending the sixth-generation A6 high-tech offerings with a signature height-adjustable air suspension, the upcoming model targets enthusiasts looking for versatility.
Audi revealed a next-generation A6 for the 2026 model year and is now expanding the lineup with the wagon body style. The German luxury automaker aims to satisfy a market starved for wagons by retaining features that made the previous generation popular.
Under the hood, the 2028 Audi A6 Allroad is expected to carry over the standard powertrain from the A6 sedan. Every new Allroad will feature a 3.0-liter turbocharged V-6 engine developing 362 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. Output is delivered to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling a zero-to-sixty-mph acceleration in about 5.0 seconds.
While hybridization is unlikely for the North American market, the vehicle introduces several driving enhancements. Offroad and Offroad+ drive modes provide additional ride height, and available four-wheel steering aids maneuverability. The standard air ride system aims to deliver a plush ride quality despite anticipated middling fuel economy.
Inside, the redesigned wagon borrows heavily from the A6 sedan interior. Standard technology includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen running Audi's MMI user interface with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Available upgrades feature a 10.9-inch front passenger display, a larger head-up display, and choice sound systems from 16-speaker setups to 20-speaker Bang & Olufsen configurations.
Safety features on the new Allroad are expected to match the high standards of the redesigned sedan, which earned a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Standard equipment will likely include automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Although there is no set arrival date yet, the 2028 Audi A6 Allroad is expected to debut around the middle of 2027. Pricing will likely begin just under $80,000, positioning it slightly higher than the current generation model.
