Bayern Munich Forward Klara Bühl Named Among 2026 Women's Ballon d'Or Nominees

Bayern Munich forward Klara Bühl has been officially named to the prestigious 30-player shortlist for the 2026 Women's Ballon d'Or. The announcement places the German international among the top football players in the world, recognizing her standout performances for both club and country over the past year.

Bühl's nomination coincides with an impressive run of form for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. During a recent match against Stuttgart, she contributed a crucial goal in the 49th minute to help secure a dominant 5–0 victory for her team, further solidifying her impact on the pitch.

The upcoming 2026 Ballon d'Or ceremony marks a historic milestone for the award, as it will be held outside of France for the first time. The event is scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2026, at the London Palladium Theatre in England, serving as a symbolic tribute to Sir Stanley Matthews, the award's inaugural winner 70 years ago.

Organized by France Football and the UEFA, the ceremony will celebrate its 70th anniversary by handing out numerous individual and team accolades. In addition to the men's and women's Ballon d'Or, categories will include the Kopa Trophy for the best under-21 player, the Yashin Trophy for top goalkeepers, and awards for the best coaches and clubs of the season.

Football fans across the globe can stream the gala live and for free through the DAZN platform by creating an account. The broadcast is set to begin at 8:00 PM local time in London, translating to afternoon hours across Latin America, including 2:00 PM in Mexico City, 3:00 PM in Bogotá, Lima, and Quito, and 5:00 PM in Buenos Aires.

Bühl joins a competitive international field of nominees for the women's prize, which also features her Bayern Munich teammate Pernille Harder, alongside other prominent stars such as Alexia Putellas, Aitana Bonmatí's peers, and several members of Manchester City and Barcelona's squads. With the ceremony fast approaching, anticipation continues to build across the international football community to see who will claim the highest individual honor in the sport.
