Manchester United suffered a disappointing 3-0 defeat against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon in the Premier League. The loss leaves United struggling in the lower half of the standings, dropping down to the 16th position after another difficult performance under pressure.

Manager Michael Carrick decided to drop Bruno Fernandes from the starting lineup, handing the captain's armband to Harry Maguire. The first half began with a deep defensive block from Bournemouth that frustrated the hosts, keeping the score level through the opening twenty minutes despite United controlling possession out wide.

The breakthrough arrived in the 38th minute when Justin Kluivert delivered a precise cross into the box, allowing Rayan to finish in style and open the scoring for the visitors. Just before halftime, a costly slip in the rain by Leny Yoro allowed Adrien Truffert to pounce, setting up Marcus Tavernier to tap home from close range and double Bournemouth's lead to 2-0.

Any hopes of a second-half comeback were extinguished in the 70th minute following a defensive error. Senne Lammens rushed out of his goal but mistimed his challenge on Evanilson outside the penalty area, leaving the Brazilian forward to score brilliantly into the empty net and secure the 3-0 victory.

Frustrated supporters took to social media to direct criticism toward several players, particularly focusing on defensive mistakes involving Lammens, Maguire, and Lisandro Martínez. Despite the dismal result and mounting pressure on the team, sections of the home crowd at Old Trafford voiced support by chanting manager Michael Carrick's name at the final whistle.

The result extends Bournemouth's impressive run under manager Marco Rose, building on a strong sequence of matches that includes recent success in European competition. Meanwhile, Manchester United faces mounting challenges as they try to reverse a difficult stretch of form and climb back up the Premier League table.
