The Cincinnati Bengals secured a dramatic 43-36 overtime victory against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday at Paycor Stadium, overcoming a slow start and three interceptions to claim their third consecutive win. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow put on an offensive masterclass, throwing for 462 yards and five touchdowns while also scrambling for a 9-yard score in the extra period to seal the game.

With the win, Cincinnati improved to 5-2 on the season, establishing a strong footing in the AFC North. Meanwhile, the Titans dropped to 1-7 overall, continuing a frustrating trend of close losses under head coach Robert Saleh. Tennessee has now gone 1-5 in one-score games this season, falling short despite holding early leads and forcing multiple turnovers.

The Titans came out firing in their first game since trading star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears. Tennessee built a 13-0 lead by the end of the first quarter, fueled by a 41-yard rushing touchdown from Tony Pollard and field goals by Joey Slye. However, the Bengals slowly chipped away, scoring two touchdowns in the second quarter via Ja'Marr Chase and Jack Endries to take a 14-13 advantage into halftime.

A chaotic second half featured multiple lead changes and high-stakes drama. Tennessee safety Amani Hooker disrupted Burrow by intercepting him three times, becoming the first NFL player to accomplish the feat in a single game since 2023. Despite the turnovers, Burrow rallied the Bengals, connecting with Tee Higgins for an 18-yard touchdown with just 1:17 remaining in regulation to tie the game at 36-36.

Higgins finished the afternoon with an impressive performance, catching 10 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. His teammate Ja'Marr Chase also surpassed the century mark, hauling in 11 receptions for 141 yards and a score. The potent passing attack proved overwhelming for the Tennessee secondary, especially as injuries mounted for the visiting squad throughout the afternoon.

Tennessee quarterback Cam Ward delivered the first 300-yard passing game of his young career, completing 26 of 40 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. Ward momentarily put the Titans ahead 36-29 late in the fourth quarter with a 15-yard scoring strike to Wan'Dale Robinson and a subsequent two-point conversion run, but Cincinnati managed to force overtime.

Winning the coin toss to start overtime, the Bengals marched 70 yards in five plays, culminating in Burrow's 9-yard rushing touchdown. The Titans took possession needing a response, but the Cincinnati defense held strong, forcing a quick three-and-out. Ward's fourth-down pass fell incomplete, officially ending the contest and leaving Tennessee to reflect on another narrow defeat before their upcoming bye week.

Following the hard-fought victory, the Bengals prepare to travel internationally to face the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid next Sunday. The Titans will use their bye week to regroup before returning to the field on November 15 to host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
