Erin Foster, the creator of the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," has responded to public comments made by lead actor Adam Brody regarding the conflict in Palestine. While Brody recently voiced support for a free Palestine during an interview with GQ, Foster stated that she holds differing opinions on the matter.

During an appearance on an upcoming episode of Amanda Hirsch's "Not Skinny But Not Fat" podcast, Foster discussed how she and the actor navigate their contrasting views in a professional environment. She likened their dynamic to conversations happening globally.

"You know, it's complicated," Foster said on the podcast. "I think our work environment, our set is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing." She added, "While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that's okay."

Foster, who converted to Judaism prior to marrying music executive Simon Tikhman, explained that her primary focus with the show is providing positive representation for Jewish viewers. She described the series, which features Kristen Bell as an agnostic woman and Brody as an unconventional rabbi, as a love letter to Judaism.

"That is why I made this show. It's because of how beautiful of an experience I've had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person, and sitting here right now at this time in the world where there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people, I think it's so important to have that," Foster stated. She emphasized that despite her personal vision for the project, colleagues and viewers are free to maintain their own perspectives.

In his earlier interview with GQ, Brody discussed his decision to speak out publicly on the issue. The actor remarked that he had previously kept his thoughts private but felt compelled to address the situation.

"Put me down as thinking it's a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine," Brody said in the interview. He also expressed hope that a future administration would alter policies contributing to the crisis, while noting that he generally only addresses political topics when directly asked by interviewers.

Season 3 of "Nobody Wants This" is currently streaming on Netflix, and Foster's full podcast interview is scheduled for release on October 27.
