Nobody Wants This Cast and Creators Look Forward to Potential Fourth Season
As the hit Netflix comedy series streams its third season, the cast and crew express enthusiasm for continuing the story.
The hit Netflix comedy series "Nobody Wants This" has captured audiences since its debut in September 2024, leaving fans eager for news regarding a fourth season. Following the October 22 release of its 10-episode third season, creator Erin Foster and the production team have indicated that they are open to returning for another installment if the streaming platform greenlights the project.
Loosely inspired by Foster's real-life experiences, the series centers on the unexpected romance between podcaster Joanne, portrayed by Kristen Bell, and rabbi Noah, played by Adam Brody. Throughout the seasons, the couple navigates the complexities of merging their lives while facing continuous hurdles from friends, family members, and outside cultural factors.
The third season follows Joanne and Noah as they move in together, encounter family disagreements regarding their wedding plans, and navigate Joanne's ongoing conversion to Judaism. The season culminates in an intimate beach wedding in Malibu during a mikvah ceremony officiated by Rabbi Eden, played by Sarah Silverman.
Speaking about the prospect of continuing the narrative, Foster explained that there are additional chapters to explore as the characters mature. She noted that entering marriage later in life presents a distinct set of experiences compared to marrying in one's twenties, offering a unique perspective for storytelling.
Co-showrunner and executive producer Jenni Konner noted that while the characters are married in a religious sense, their marital status remains unrecognized by the broader world, providing narrative potential for future episodes. Meanwhile, supporting character arcs remain unresolved, including a complicated dynamic involving Sasha, played by Timothy Simons, Esther, and Morgan, portrayed by Justine Lupe.
While Netflix has not yet officially renewed "Nobody Wants This" for season 4, precedent suggests fans may not need to worry immediately. Both the second and third seasons received official renewals roughly two weeks after the preceding season premiered on the platform. The creative team remains ready to resume production should Netflix officially order another round of episodes.
