French authorities have deployed 70,000 police officers and gendarmes nationwide ahead of a major wave of demonstrations. The security mobilization, representing an increase of 10,000 personnel compared to the previous week, aims to prevent a repetition of the violence that marred earlier protests.

Intelligence reports indicate that between 400,000 and 500,000 demonstrators are anticipated across the country. Officials have warned of potential attacks on public buildings and state symbols, alongside opportunistic looting, prompting local authorities to implement strict administrative police measures, including march route modifications and targeted gathering bans.

In Paris, tensions emerged over the planned itinerary for the upcoming weekend march. While organizers insisted on proceeding from Bastille to Nation, the police prefecture sought to alter the route to avoid repeat property damage, pointing to extensive destruction during previous unrest where hundreds of commercial establishments were vandalized or looted.

Meanwhile, high school student representatives were received at the Élysée Palace for discussions with the president, who sought to listen to their grievances and concerns. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu is scheduled to hold further meetings with additional organizations to address the ongoing social discontent.

Security preparations also extend to regional centers, including Orléans, where a political party congress is scheduled alongside opposition protests. Local authorities and national officials inspected security arrangements in the area to manage potential clashes and ensure public safety.

Business leaders and chambers of commerce expressed deep concern regarding the economic impact of the civil unrest, which has already caused extensive material damage estimated in the hundreds of millions of euros. Representatives urged merchants to shutter their storefronts and allow law enforcement to handle security situations rather than attempting self-defense.

Interior officials emphasized that security forces will maintain a mobile, agile, and impactful posture, assuring that authorities will remain entirely uncompromising toward radical groups intent on committing unlawful acts.
