Galatasaray secured an important 2-0 victory against German club VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League at Rams Park in Istanbul. Midfielder Aleksey Batrakov starred for the hosts by scoring both goals in the first half of the league phase match.

The breakthrough came in the 12th minute when Batrakov found space inside the penalty area and fired a right-footed shot past the goalkeeper. Just three minutes later, he struck again from close range, finishing a setup from Davinson Sánchez to double the advantage before the half-hour mark.

Stuttgart nearly responded early in the game when Jamie Leweling hit the goalpost in the eighth minute. The visitors pushed for a way back into the match throughout the second half, and Chris Führich briefly put the ball in the net in the 76th minute, but the referee overturned the goal following a video assistant referee review.

The match grew increasingly physical as both teams accumulated yellow cards. Stuttgart's Atakan Karazor, Yanik Spalt, Deniz Undav, Grischa Prömel, and Ramon Hendriks were cautioned by the referee. Meanwhile, Galatasaray players Mario Lemina, Barış Alper Yılmaz, Roland Sallai, and Lucas Torreira also entered the referee's notebook during the heated encounter.

During the first half, play was temporarily halted after a clash left Batrakov with a head wound requiring medical attention. Stuttgart was also forced to make an early substitution in the 18th minute when Karazor departed with an injury, replaced by Yanik Spalt.

Despite sustained pressure from Stuttgart, including late efforts from Ermedin Demirović and Führich, Galatasaray's defense held firm. Goalkeeper Fabian Bredlow made several key saves for Stuttgart, denying attempts from Victor Osimhen, but the German side could not find a breakthrough.

The win provides a significant boost for Okan Buruk's squad as they continue their European campaign. Galatasaray entered the fixture following a 4-2 win against Lille in their previous continental outing, while Stuttgart suffered a setback after a strong start to the league phase.
