The virtual band Gorillaz, created by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, has officially confirmed a solo concert in Mexico City. The performance is scheduled for December 11, 2026, at the Palacio de los Deportes, marking the group's return to the venue after an eight-year absence.

This announcement follows months of anticipation from fans in the capital, who had previously only been offered festival appearances and a separate show in Guadalajara. The Mexico City concert is part of the band's current promotional efforts for their latest studio album, titled The Mountain Tour.

The concert will feature Mexican alternative rock singer and songwriter Luisa Almaguer as the opening act. Almaguer, a prominent artist and activist within the LGBTQ+ community, has previously collaborated with Albarn on the 2025 project Africa Express Presents… Bahidorá. Organizers highlighted her inclusion as a significant addition to the event.

Ticket sales for the Palacio de los Deportes show are structured in multiple phases. A special presale for HSBC Premier credit and debit cardholders is set for November 12, followed by a broader presale for other HSBC cardholders on November 13, which includes options for interest-free monthly installments. A general sale is expected to follow, managed through the Ticketmaster platform.

The band's presence in Mexico is extensive during the 2026 season. Before the solo show in the capital, Gorillaz will perform at the Corona Capital festival on November 20 at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. They are also scheduled to perform in Guadalajara at the Coliseo GNP Seguros on December 9, just two days prior to their Mexico City appearance.

These three dates represent a significant return for the group, which has not performed in Mexico since May 2022. During that previous visit, the band played at the Pulso GNP festival in Querétaro and held a separate concert in Monterrey. The upcoming tour schedule also includes stops across Latin America, including performances in Peru, Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Brazil.
