Valencia head coach Javier Aguirre has expressed high praise for on-loan Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, highlighting the player's dedication and commitment to improving his physical condition away from the pitch.

The 23-year-old England under-21 international joined the Spanish club on loan toward the end of the summer transfer window. His start in LaLiga faced early challenges, which included a heavy 5-0 home defeat against Barcelona on his debut and reports from club chiefs suggesting he arrived in Spain overweight.

Elliott has yet to make a starting appearance for Valencia, with all five of his outings so far coming as a substitute. However, a recent coaching change that brought in Aguirre four weeks ago has appeared to benefit the player's integration into the squad.

To address concerns regarding his physical readiness, Elliott enlisted a private nutritionist. Head coach Aguirre noted noticeable improvements in the player's physique and commended his overall approach.

"I see him more refined. He is working with a private nutritionist. I's delighted with his attitude. He has a lot of quality and he's a Valencia player. You have to get the best possible out of it," Aguirre stated.

Having previously experienced difficult loan periods and a lack of regular playing time under various managers, Elliott is currently working to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup at the Mestalla stadium. At 23 years old, the midfielder holds over 200 senior appearances and aims to establish a long-term career path.

As the season progresses, the onus remains on Elliott to maintain his physical conditioning and convince the coaching staff of his readiness to contribute consistently. Successful performances in Spain could influence his future development and potential return to Liverpool.
