Heated Rivalry Season 1 to Receive Limited Theatrical Screenings

The hit romantic drama series "Heated Rivalry" is heading to the big screen, with distributors announcing special theatrical events to celebrate the show's first anniversary. The series, which originally premiered on HBO Max and Crave, follows the complex relationship between two professional hockey stars, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, as they navigate their careers and personal feelings over an eight-year period.

In the United States and several other international markets, including Canada, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and Australia, audiences will have the opportunity to view the series in a unique format. According to Sphere Abacus, more than 650 theaters will host screenings of the show's first season between November 6 and November 30. These locations include major chains such as AMC, Cinemark, and over 275 Regal theaters.

The theatrical experience is structured into three sets of paired episodes, allowing fans to watch the narrative unfold in segments. Tickets for these screenings are priced at $9.99. At participating Regal locations, viewers will be treated to exclusive filmed greetings from the series' cast and its creator, writer, and director, Jacob Tierney. Additionally, some theaters plan to enhance the experience by offering themed cocktails, such as "Summer in Montreal" and "Russians Don't Blush," which draw inspiration from key moments in the show.

Brooks LeBoeuf, senior vice president of U.S. content at Regal, expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting the strong connection the series has built with its audience. "When a series connects with audiences the way 'Heated Rivalry' has, we look for ways to bring it to the big screen and give fans a reason to experience it together," LeBoeuf stated. He added that the event serves as a way to celebrate the story and performances before the anticipated arrival of the second season in 2027.

While the November screenings cover the series in pairs, fans in Australia will have access to a different format. Madman Entertainment has announced a one-day marathon event scheduled for December 5. This five-hour screening will present all episodes of the first season in a single sitting, with a planned intermission occurring between the third and fourth episodes.

"Heated Rivalry" is based on the bestselling novels by Rachel Reid and features Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov. The ensemble cast also includes François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nélisse, and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova. Production for the second season is currently underway, with a release expected in the spring of 2027.
