French singer Hugues Aufray has been forced to postpone his scheduled concert at the Bocapôle venue in Bressuire, France, originally planned for Friday, October 23, 2026. The production company, Backstage Event, announced the cancellation on social media, explaining that the artist was dealing with health complications that made the performance impossible.

According to the production team, Aufray is suffering from "acute laryngitis resulting in aphonia." Because of this sudden loss of voice, the concert has been rescheduled for Friday, January 8, 2027, at the same location. The event was expected to draw a large crowd as part of his ongoing tour titled "Escapada!" and was set to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Bocapôle venue, which Aufray originally inaugurated in 2006.

Organizers have confirmed that tickets purchased for the original October date will remain valid for the rescheduled performance in January. Fans who are unable to attend the new date can request a refund at their original point of purchase until November 20, 2026.

Through the production company, the artist shared a message with his supporters regarding the setback. "Hugues Aufray offers his most sincere apologies to his audience for this delay beyond his control and hopes to meet the spectators of Bressuire in top form on January 8th," the statement read, while also thanking fans for their continued understanding and loyalty.

Aufray celebrated his 97th birthday on August 18, making him widely recognized as one of the oldest active performers still taking the stage. His enduring career and cultural impact were recently honored by the French government when President Emmanuel Macron presented him with the National Order of Merit on September 14, adding to the Legion of Honor he received over a decade prior.
