Los Angeles FC officially secured a spot in the Major League Soccer playoffs following a hard-fought 2-2 draw with the LA Galaxy. The result marks the eighth time in the franchise's nine-year history that the club has reached the postseason.

The match started strongly for the Galaxy, as Joseph Paintsil built a two-goal lead for his side. Paintsil found the back of the net in the 34th and 51st minutes of the contest to put the Galaxy in a commanding position.

However, LAFC responded in the second half to even the score. Denis Bouanga narrowed the deficit with a goal in the 53rd minute, and Leo Walta provided the equalizer in the 62nd minute to level the match.

Earlier in the game, LAFC nearly took the lead in the 29th minute of the first half, but Son Heung-min had a goal disallowed due to an offside call.

Following the draw, LAFC holds a 12-9-11 record and sits in sixth place in the Western Conference standings with 47 points. The team trails both the San Jose Earthquakes and the Houston Dynamo by a single point.

Meanwhile, the LA Galaxy holds a 10-11-11 record and occupies the ninth position in the conference standings. The ninth seed serves as the final wild-card spot, leaving the Galaxy with an opportunity to secure their own postseason berth as the regular season draws to a close.

Across the Western Conference, the playoff race remains competitive as multiple teams battle for the remaining postseason slots ahead of the November schedule.
