Television host and entrepreneur Maya Jama recently opened up about her time on the second season of The Celebrity Traitors, where she played as a Traitor for five weeks before being banished just before the endgame. As the only original Traitor to survive nearly the entire season in secret, Jama successfully avoided suspicion until the final roundtable, when actor Michael Sheen and fellow contestants targeted her gameplay.

During the dramatic finale broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer, the remaining Faithful contestants, actor Sebastian Croft and comedian Romesh Ranganathan, emerged victorious after successfully voting out Traitor King Kenny. The winning duo split a prize pot of £83,000 to donate to their chosen charities, Choose Love and the Refugee Council. Although Jama did not secure the win, she announced that she would personally match what she would have won had she reached the end, donating the funds to Action for Children, an organization that provides foster care and residential support.

Fans praised the 32-year-old presenter for her generosity and sportsmanship following the finale. Reflecting on her strategic approach to the game, Jama explained that her strategy relied heavily on maintaining normal social bonds with her castmates. Despite spending weeks in a Scottish castle dealing with intense roundtables and minimal sleep, she noted that the experience forged deep friendships among an unlikely group of participants.

The season featured several dramatic twists, including the reluctant recruitment of comedian James Acaster, who ultimately outed his allegiance during a penultimate roundtable, and the early departure of original Traitor Richard E. Grant. Jama and King Kenny later attempted a high-stakes strategy to eliminate Michael Sheen through a tense murder-in-plain-sight challenge, though the move ultimately led to increased scrutiny on the remaining villains.

Following the conclusion of the reality competition, Jama celebrated Halloween by hosting a party in London attended by several of her co-stars, including Croft, Fry, and King Kenny. Embracing the festive spirit, she dressed up as Olympic champion Sir Mo Farah using an authentic running kit and a bald cap provided by the athlete himself.

Born and raised in Bristol, Jama has built a prominent career in British broadcasting, progressing from online broadcasting and MTV to hosting major programs such as Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-Up Star and ITV's Love Island. Her appearance on The Celebrity Traitors added another milestone to her television career while drawing millions of viewers to the BBC series.
