Punjab FC claimed a dramatic 3-2 victory against Churchill Brothers in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2026-27 match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa. Konsam Sanathoi Singh secured the win for Pavlos Dermitzakis's squad by scoring the decisive goal deep into stoppage time.

The visiting side started the game aggressively, with Bishu Sharma registering an early shot over the crossbar in the second minute. Punjab FC broke the deadlock when Gaurav Bora fouled Messi Bouli inside the penalty area. Bouli converted the resulting penalty kick in the 13th minute, slotting his left-footed shot into the top-right corner to put his team ahead 1-0.

Churchill Brothers increased their attacking pressure following the setback. Sebastián Gutiérrez leveled the score in the 37th minute by finishing from close range after receiving a cross from Vincy Barretto.

The parity lasted only a brief moment. In the 40th minute, Spanish player Alfred Planas restored Punjab FC's advantage by drilling a right-footed shot into the bottom-left corner. However, Churchill Brothers fought back once again before halftime, as Gutiérrez netted his second goal of the match during first-half stoppage time, sending the teams into the break tied at 2-2.

The second half featured intense competition as both squads searched for a tie-breaking goal. Goalkeepers Sayad Kadir and Arshdeep Singh both made crucial saves to keep their respective teams in contention, denying scoring opportunities from players including Wayde Lekay and Bouli.

As the match entered its closing moments, Punjab FC maintained heavy offensive pressure. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Bouli assisted Sanathoi Singh inside the penalty area, and the forward fired a right-footed shot into the bottom-right corner to seal the 3-2 triumph.

With this hard-fought victory, Punjab FC moved into second place in the league standings, bouncing back following their previous draw against Mumbai City FC. Churchill Brothers fought valiantly until the final whistle, but Sanathoi Singh's late strike ultimately decided the outcome of the high-scoring encounter.
