Professional wrestling icon Ric Flair was rushed to a hospital on Friday morning after suffering a fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred just hours after the 77-year-old sports entertainment legend informed his fans on social media that he was dealing with a serious medical issue involving a blood clot in his leg.

According to reports, Flair was at the Wagamama restaurant in Tampa when he got up from the bar, left his phone and drink behind, and walked across the street. While outside, he suddenly fell and injured his face, cutting open his head and around one eye. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene to treat him before transporting him to a hospital via ambulance.

Sources indicated that Flair experienced significant bleeding from his eye injury during the accident, and medical personnel also evaluated the possibility of a concussion. The exact circumstances surrounding the sudden fall remain unclear, and outlets reported that there was no immediate confirmation linking the stumble directly to his previously diagnosed blood clot.

Earlier on Friday, Flair shared an update with his supporters explaining that he was forced to cancel a scheduled appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle. He stated that his doctors had restricted his travel limits to three or four hours due to the blood clot in his leg, making the trip to Seattle impossible.

Emphasizing the gravity of the condition, Flair wrote on social media that blood clots are extremely serious and potentially life-threatening. He pointed to recent complications experienced by Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as a reminder that the medical issue must be treated with caution, adding that he needed to prioritize his health and follow strict medical advice.

Before the fall, Flair had scheduled a medical procedure to treat the affected vein, which he hoped would eventually allow him to resume longer trips. It remains unknown whether Friday's injuries and hospital visit will alter those upcoming medical plans or recovery timelines.

Flair's health has faced several major challenges over the years. In 2017, the 16-time world champion was placed in a medically induced coma following multiple organ failure and an intestinal rupture. He also mentioned earlier in May that he was taking time away to focus on personal health issues.

As one of the most recognizable figures in professional wrestling history, Flair's career spans decades of championship success and two inductions into the WWE Hall of Fame. Fans and members of the wrestling community are currently awaiting further updates regarding his condition following the Tampa hospital visit.
