Scottish Premiership Action Continues With Sunday Fixtures

The Scottish Premiership action continues on Sunday with a pair of compelling fixtures following a busy week of domestic and European competition. League leaders Celtic prepare to make the trip to Easter Road to take on Hibernian in an early afternoon kickoff.

Celtic enters the weekend sitting comfortably at the top of the domestic table under the guidance of manager Martin O'Neill. The Hoops have experienced remarkable league form recently, winning 15 of their previous 16 domestic fixtures, which includes a dominant 7-1 victory against Hearts and a 2-0 win over Motherwell.

Despite their domestic dominance, Celtic recently faced a setback on the continental stage, dropping a 2-1 decision to Celta Vigo in Europe. However, O'Neill's squad has received a boost with several players returning to full training and matchday contention, including defensive regulars Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston.

Meanwhile, hosts Hibernian find themselves at the bottom of the league standings. Following the dismissal of manager David Gray, new boss Marink Reedijk is searching for his first positive result after suffering consecutive defeats against Dundee United and Falkirk since taking charge.

Following the conclusion of the Easter Road fixture, the Scottish Premiership action shifts to a second matchup of the day as Motherwell prepares to face Hearts. The game is scheduled to broadcast live on Premier Sports 1, offering fans a full afternoon of top-flight Scottish football.

In other domestic news surrounding Scottish football, attention is also turning toward the upcoming Scottish Cup Third Round Draw. Falkirk and Scotland goalkeeper Scott Bain is set to conduct the draw alongside Gordon Duncan, highlighting a weekend where both league standings and cup aspirations remain in sharp focus for clubs across the nation.
