Suzuki Unveils New GSX-10R Supersport at EICMA 2026

The newly revealed motorcycle bridges the gap between the GSX-S1000 and the track-focused GSX-R1000R.

Suzuki officially introduced the 2027 GSX-10R on November 3 at the EICMA trade show in Milan, Italy, adding a versatile new option to its global motorcycle lineup. Designed to thread the needle between track performance and everyday practicality, the new supersport aims to offer a road-friendly experience without sacrificing aggressive styling or advanced engineering.

The motorcycle is powered by a reworked 999cc inline-four engine based on the legendary K5 architecture, which has previously powered models such as the GSX-S1000 and the Katana. The liquid-cooled motor generates 152 horsepower at 11,000 rpm and 106 Nm of torque at 9,250 rpm. While its peak power is lower than the track-focused GSX-R1000R, the engine is specifically tuned for robust midrange pull and flexibility on public roads.

Suzuki confirmed that the GSX-10R will not replace the existing GSX-R1000R, which remains part of the manufacturer's catalog. Instead, the newcomer bridges the gap in the lineup between the GSX-S1000 naked bike and the uncompromising track superbikes, adopting a fully faired design, clip-on handlebars, and a sporty riding position.

The chassis features an aluminum twin-spar frame coupled with a newly developed aluminum swingarm and fully adjustable 43mm KYB upside-down front forks. Front braking is managed by radial Brembo four-piston calipers paired with newly developed discs. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 214 kg, aided by a lightweight lithium-ion battery, and features an accessible seat height of 810 millimeters alongside an 18-liter fuel tank.

Among the standout highlights of the GSX-10R is its comprehensive electronic suite, featuring 15 rider aids governed by a six-axis inertial measurement unit. The package includes Suzuki's first-ever Slide Control system, Roll Torque Control, cornering ABS, traction control, launch control, and bidirectional quickshifter. Additionally, a new Brake Hold feature keeps the rear brake applied for roughly 30 seconds after coming to a stop on inclines, declines, or level ground.

Everyday usability is further enhanced by features such as cruise control with curve speed reduction, a USB-C charging port, and a 4.2-inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity through the Suzuki Ride Connect+ app. The model also introduces the Suzuki Ground Beacon System, which projects indicator light beams onto the road surface to improve visibility for surrounding traffic.

Suzuki will offer the GSX-10R in three distinct color schemes: Pearl Vigor Blue with Metallic Mystic Silver, Pearl Pulse Red with Solid Iron Gray, and Metallic Galaxy Gray with Glass Sparkle Black. Official pricing and market launch dates have not yet been announced by the manufacturer.
