The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) held an academic awards ceremony today at the R.K. Convention Center in Neelankarai, Chennai. The event was organized to recognize and reward students who achieved top rankings in the 10th and 12th-grade public examinations.

Presided over by TVK leader Vijay, the ceremony focused on students from five specific districts: Ariyalur, Cuddalore, Kallakurichi, Tiruvannamalai, and Villupuram. During this initial phase of the program, students who secured the top three positions in their respective legislative constituencies were presented with certificates and cash awards.

A significant highlight of the event was the elaborate luncheon prepared for the students and their parents. The catering was managed by Madhampatti Pakasala, which curated a menu emphasizing traditional regional cuisine alongside specialty dishes.

The lunch menu featured a variety of items, including Vaniyambadi-style mutton biryani, accompanied by raita, drumstick sambar, and a tangy shallot-okra curry. The meal also included pepper rasam, curd, and a selection of side dishes such as plantain stem stir-fry, potato roast, and crispy appalams.

The dessert selection was equally diverse, offering traditional sweets such as palm jaggery cotton milk halwa, bread malpua, and black rice payasam. The organizers also provided ice cream, mango ginger pickle, and other refreshments to round out the celebratory meal.

The ceremony serves as a platform for the organization to encourage academic excellence among the youth. By honoring high-achieving students and providing a communal dining experience, the TVK aims to foster a supportive environment for the next generation of scholars in Tamil Nadu.
