The Celebrity Traitors Season 2 Concludes With Faithfuls Claiming Victory

The second season of The Celebrity Traitors came to a surprising close on BBC One and iPlayer, concluding with an unexpected win by Faithful contestants Sebastian Croft and Romesh Ranganathan. Both remaining Traitors, Maya Jama and King Kenny, were ultimately banished during a tense showdown.

The path to the finale was marked by intense gameplay, strategic maneuverings, and high-profile departures. The penultimate episode saw comedian James Acaster confessing his status as a Traitor at the roundtable, a move prompted by Michael Sheen's deduction regarding a murder in plain sight involving a perfume bottle. Acaster later explained that his confession was planned to help set up a tighter finale.

Following Acaster's banishment, the remaining players faced critical eliminations. Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny carried out a final murder, eliminating Michael Sheen before the ultimate roundtable. With the prize fund reaching £83,000, the remaining contestants continued voting to root out any hidden threats.

During the final banishment phases, Maya Jama was targeted and voted out by a 4-to-1 margin. Subsequent rounds saw the elimination of Leigh-Anne Pinnock and King Kenny through intense voting deadlocks and deliberations by Croft and Ranganathan.

James Blunt, who played a prominent and vocal role as a Faithful throughout the season, was ultimately evicted during the closing stages. Reviewers noted that Blunt's confident predictions and active approach at the roundtable contributed to his eventual downfall just short of the finish line.

The season finale crowned Croft and Ranganathan as the victors, allowing them to split the £83,000 cash prize to donate to charities of their choice. Despite a challenging season that saw early departures among key players and complex dynamics following initial recruitment phases, the BBC reported strong ratings for the reality television competition.
