Minnesota looks to sweep its Florida road trip against Orlando in a matchup broadcasted locally through the sports streaming service DAZN.

The Minnesota Timberwolves aim to secure a 2-0 record on their Florida road trip as they face the Orlando Magic on Friday night at the Kia Center. Minnesota opened its campaign on Wednesday with a commanding 131-106 victory over the Miami Heat, led by Anthony Edwards' stellar 45-point performance. Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic are seeking to rebound from a tight 132-125 home-opening loss to the Atlanta Hawks, despite a historic 35-point and 10-assist performance from Paolo Banchero.

The matchup marks the first meeting of the season between the two squads. Last year, the Magic swept both regular-season matchups against the Timberwolves, adding an extra layer of competition to Friday's contest. Fans tuning in locally can watch the game through regional broadcasting and streaming options, including DAZN, which serves as the exclusive broadcast home for several NBA franchises this season.

DAZN has emerged as a major player in regional sports broadcasting for cord-cutters. Starting this season, the sports streaming platform offers dedicated monthly subscriptions for 19 different teams across the NBA, NHL, WNBA, and MLB for local market subscribers. For the NBA specifically, DAZN holds exclusive streaming rights for five franchises—including the Minnesota Timberwolves, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Memphis Grizzlies—while also broadcasting games for teams like the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Brooklyn Nets.

Subscription tiers for team packages on DAZN generally range from a Standard plan at $19.99 per month, which allows two simultaneous streams, to an Ultimate tier at $24.99 per month, offering up to five streams, multiview capabilities, and alternate camera angles. Additionally, DAZN provides select free games and content for fans who register with an email address, expanding accessibility for supporters of partner teams.

On the hardwood, both teams enter Friday night dealing with notable early-season injuries. The Timberwolves remain without Donte DiVincenzo, who is sidelined following right Achilles tendon surgery in April. Minnesota's rotation heavily features new additions and core contributors, with LaMelo Ball contributing 21 points in the season opener alongside Edwards, and Rudy Gobert anchoring the paint with 15 rebounds against Miami.

The Magic are facing a more extensive injury report, ruling out Anthony Black with a right ankle sprain, Jonathan Isaac for left knee injury management, Izaiyah Nelson with a left ankle injury, and Noah Penda due to a partially torn right hamstring. Despite these absences, Orlando relies on a starting lineup anchored by Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Jalen Suggs, and Desmond Bane as they look to secure their first victory of the new campaign.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. As both teams look to establish early momentum, the matchup highlights the shifting landscape of sports broadcasting, where traditional regional sports networks increasingly share space with digital streaming platforms like DAZN to deliver local games directly to fans' devices.
