The military intelligence agency of Ukraine has published comprehensive details regarding a new Russian cruise missile known as the Filin. According to the agency, this weapon has been deployed by Russian forces against targets within Ukraine since the end of the summer.

The disclosures were shared on the official War and Sanctions portal operated by the intelligence service, alongside its Telegram channel. The published materials include detailed performance data, an interactive 3D model, and an exhaustive list of electronic components and their respective countries of origin.

Manufactured by the Russian research and production enterprise NPO Molnija, the Filin is described as a low-cost, ground-launched jet-propelled cruise missile designed to strike deep targets. It features a composite fuselage made of carbon and glass fiber, measuring 3.5 meters in length with a 3-meter wingspan, and incorporates 3D-printed elements.

The weapon reportedly achieves a maximum speed of 800 kilometers per hour and has an operational range of up to 1,200 kilometers. It is capable of flying at extremely low altitudes as well as heights reaching up to 6 kilometers.

Two versions of the cruise missile have been identified by Ukrainian intelligence: one equipped with a 50-kilogram warhead and another carrying a 100-kilogram payload. The missile is launched from a ground-based platform using a solid-propellant booster.

On a structural level, the missile shares significant similarities with the Harpyia model. Navigation is driven by a Chinese-made inertial navigation system combined with the 16-channel Kometa system. While the engine is domestically produced by Reynolds, the electronics contain a mixture of foreign parts, reflecting a notable presence of Chinese components.

In a separate development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported heavy missile strikes targeting Kyiv and other regions following recent negotiations. Meanwhile, NATO announced that it has authorized Ukraine to procure defense equipment directly through the alliance's procurement agency to benefit from its expertise and capabilities.
