Vicky Soulé Honors Her Late Father, Ricardo Soulé, With Emotional Tribute
The daughter of the late Vox Dei founder shared a final photograph and a moving farewell message dedicated to the legendary musician.
Vicky Soulé, daughter of the late Argentine musician and Vox Dei founder Ricardo Soulé, recently shared a deeply personal tribute on social media featuring what she described as the final photograph taken with her father before his passing. The image captures the father and daughter together in a Quilmes sanatorium, holding a thermos and mate while Ricardo rested in bed. Despite the difficult circumstances during his final weeks, the moment highlighted their bond.
Ricardo Soulé passed away on October 2 at the age of 76. In her heartfelt post, Vicky reflected on the final moments they shared, expressing the profound grief of losing her father, mentor, and musical inspiration. She described the painful stillness of holding onto her final memories, including their last kiss, embrace, and conversation, while noting how the rest of the world continued to move forward despite her personal devastation.
The emotional message was accompanied by the song "Triste," written and performed by Ricardo Soulé from his solo album Buddy Middler. Vicky’s tribute joined other messages shared by the musician's children following his death. Shortly after his passing, she posted an outdoor photograph expressing her heartbreak and vowing to live on for him, writing that he had taken a piece of her soul to heaven.
Gabriel Soulé, another of the musician's children, also remembered his father online by sharing a vintage black-and-white portrait from 1979 of the two of them together. Gabriel thanked his father for the music and love he left behind, receiving supportive comments from his sister Victoria, who signed her messages as "your little Vickyta."
Ricardo Soulé died peacefully, surrounded by his family, after pausing his musical performances in September due to health concerns. An official family statement celebrated his enduring legacy, stating that his spirit was free, his music belonged to everyone, and his work remained eternal. Fans and loved ones later gathered to pay their respects during a wake held at the House of Culture in Quilmes, the city where he was born and built a career spanning nearly six decades.
Born on March 15, 1950, Ricardo Soulé became a towering figure in Argentine rock history. As a member of Vox Dei, he helped shape the genre, notably through the creation of the 1971 rock opera La Biblia and the generation-spanning composition "Presente (El momento en que estás)." His contributions cemented his status as one of the nation's most celebrated artists, whose life and music continue to resonate deeply with his family and fans alike.
