Ajay Mitchell scored a career-high 30 points and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 26 to lead the short-handed Oklahoma City Thunder to a 125-114 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. The win kept Oklahoma City undefeated through their first four games of the season.

Mitchell stepped into the starting lineup in place of Jalen Williams and immediately delivered a major offensive spark, racking up 18 points in the first half alone. He finished the night shooting 10-for-16 from the field and 9-for-10 from the free-throw line, while also chipping in two rebounds, five assists, one block, and one three-pointer in the best performance of his NBA career.

The impressive display comes at a critical time for the Thunder, who are currently dealing with a mounting injury crisis. On Sunday night during a 108-101 victory over the Clippers, Oklahoma City lost both Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace to serious injuries. Both players will require surgeries that could potentially end their seasons.

The team's injury concerns deepened further on Monday. Big man Chet Holmgren was sidelined due to patellar tendinitis in his right knee, and reserve guard Alex Caruso had to be helped to the locker room late in the second quarter after suffering a sprained right ankle. Caruso, who was seeing extended playing time due to the absence of his teammates, did not return to the game.

Despite missing multiple key rotation players, the Thunder maintained control throughout the contest. Jared McCain stepped up with 18 points, including 10 before halftime, while Isaiah Hartenstein posted a strong double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds to help secure the victory.

Oklahoma City built a comfortable 67-53 lead by halftime. Their advantage continued to grow in the second half, expanding to 89-72 following a 3-pointer by McCain with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.

For the Suns, Jalen Green led the scoring effort with 20 points, Dillon Brooks added 19, and Miles Bridges contributed 17. Meanwhile, Devin Booker struggled offensively for Phoenix, limited to just three points on 1-for-7 shooting.

Looking ahead, the Phoenix Suns will return to action on Friday night to host Denver. Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder will hit the road to face Dallas on Wednesday night, looking to maintain their perfect record despite their depleted roster.
