Atlético de San Luis secured a 2-1 victory against Querétaro at the Estadio Libertad Financiera during the Clásico de la 57 in Week 13 of the Apertura 2026 Liga MX tournament. The local side made the most of their home-field advantage to claim three valuable points, while the visitors suffered their second straight defeat in the competition.

The match began with Atlético de San Luis taking the initiative and applying early pressure in the opposing half. Despite controlling much of the play through the efforts of midfielders Sébastien Salles-Lamonge and Anderson Duarte, the home team struggled to break the deadlock during a scoreless first half.

The game saw several interruptions prior to halftime, notably the injury of Querétaro player Paulo Victor, who was replaced by Iker Benito in the 38th minute. Additionally, a potential penalty for Atlético San Luis was reviewed by the VAR in the 43rd minute, though the referee ultimately decided against awarding a foul.

The scoring opened shortly after the break in the 52nd minute. Felipe Mora capitalized on a headed assist from Rafa Llorente, slotting a left-footed shot from close range to give the host team a 1-0 advantage.

San Luis extended its lead in the 67th minute following defensive miscommunication from Querétaro. Daniel Parra inadvertently redirected the ball into his own net while trying to clear a cross, bringing the score to 2-0 in favor of the local squad.

Querétaro attempted a late comeback after the referee awarded a penalty in the 72nd minute following a foul by Benjamín Galdames on Denilson Muñoz inside the area. Alí Ávila successfully converted the penalty with a right-footed shot down the center of the goal, cutting the deficit to 2-1.

Despite late pressure from the visitors and several scoring opportunities in the final minutes, Atlético San Luis managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle. The victory lifts the local team to 16 points in the standings, while Querétaro faces mounting pressure as the regular season enters its decisive final stretch.
