Inter Miami secured a 2-1 comeback victory against the New England Revolution on MLS Matchday 34 during their final away match of the regular season at Gillette Stadium. The hard-fought win proved vital as both clubs prepare for the upcoming Major League Soccer playoffs this month.

Entering the match, the stakes were high for both sides. The New England Revolution held second place in the Supporters' Shield standings with 58 points, while Inter Miami sat fourth with 56 points. Inter Miami entered the fixture searching for a victory to lock down a top-four position in the standings and secure qualification for the 2027 CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Both head coaches deployed a four-three-three formation for the Sunday evening kickoff. Inter Miami manager Cristian González selected Dayne St. Clair in goal, backed by a backline of Ian Fray, Casemiro, Micael, and Gonzalo Luján. Rodrigo De Paul, Yannick Bright, and Telasco Segovia manned the midfield, while Lionel Messi captained an attack featuring Germán Berterame and Riquelme Fillipi.

The New England Revolution, led by head coach Marko Mitrović, countered with Matt Turner between the posts. Ilay Feingold, Ethan Kohler, Joshua Wynder, and Will Sands formed the defensive line, with Carles Gil, Matthew Polster, and Brooklyn Raines in the center of the pitch. Peyton Miller, Dor Turgeman, and Dániel Gazdag rounded out the starting front three.

The hosts broke the deadlock in the first half when Dániel Gazdag capitalized on an opportunity in the center of the box, firing a right-footed shot into the high center of the goal with an assist from Ilay Feingold in the 36th minute. New England took that 1-0 advantage into the halftime intermission after a competitive opening forty-five minutes.

Inter Miami shifted the momentum shortly after the second half commenced. Germán Berterame leveled the score in the 57th minute by heading a ball into the bottom right corner following a headed pass from Lionel Messi. The equalizer energized the visitors as they pressed for a winner.

Lionel Messi delivered the decisive moment in the 64th minute. The Argentine star slotted a left-footed shot from the center of the box into the bottom right corner, successfully converting an assist from Telasco Segovia to put Inter Miami ahead 2-1.

Despite late tactical changes and sustained pressure from the New England Revolution, Inter Miami held firm defensively through the remaining minutes and stoppage time. The victory finalizes the regular-season away schedule for Inter Miami as they shift their focus toward the postseason tournament.
