Jio Platforms Finalizes Record-Breaking IPO Share Allotment
The telecommunications and digital giant's massive public offering is set to finalize its share allocation following unprecedented global interest.
Jio Platforms Limited is finalizing the share allotment for its landmark initial public offering on October 26, following a subscription period that drew unprecedented attention from investors worldwide. The public issue, valued at approximately ₹30,188 crore to ₹30,213 crore, concluded its bidding phase on October 23 after securing a historic volume of interest.
According to exchange data, the offering generated nearly 1.39 crore individual applications, setting a global record for the highest number of submissions ever received by an initial public offering. The entire public issue was oversubscribed 22.19 times, pulling in bids totaling roughly ₹7.4 lakh crore, equivalent to $78 billion, across both the public issue and the anchor investor placement.
Investor demand was led by qualified institutional buyers, whose designated portion was subscribed 70.55 times and fully covered within the first ten minutes of bidding. Non-institutional investors recorded a subscription of 14 times, while retail individual investors, employees, and shareholders subscribed 2.72 times, 2.93 times, and 7.60 times, respectively.
Investors awaiting allotment results can verify their status online through the official portals of the IPO registrar, KFin Technologies, as well as the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange. Checking the status requires identification details such as a PAN number, application number, or Demat account specifics.
According to the planned schedule, investors who were not allotted shares will have their refunds processed on October 27, while successfully allocated shares will be credited to winner accounts on the same day. Trading for the newly allotted shares is scheduled to commence on the BSE and NSE on October 28.
At the upper boundary of its price band, set between ₹1,065 and ₹1,119 per share, the company previously assigned shares worth ₹8,109.85 crore to 212 anchor investors. Analysts note that the listing carries an implied market capitalization of roughly ₹10.3 lakh crore, positioning the firm among the largest publicly traded corporations in the country by market value.
Moving forward, market observers expect Jio Platforms' growth trajectory to focus heavily on increasing average revenue per user and scaling up advanced digital, enterprise, and technology services. While immediate attention centers on the upcoming stock market debut, long-term valuation will rely on the enterprise's capacity to convert its expansive digital infrastructure into sustainable earnings growth.
