New Zealand secured a dominant 87-run victory over India in the fourth T20 International at Eden Park in Auckland, posting their highest-ever T20I total of 259/7. Despite already losing the first three matches of the series, the hosts rebounded strongly to hand India their second-heaviest defeat in T20I history.

The New Zealand innings was defined by a blistering partnership between Glenn Phillips and Michael Bracewell, who combined for 115 runs off just 40 deliveries for the fifth wicket. Phillips smashed 107 off 49 balls, featuring 10 sixes, reaching his century in 46 balls. Bracewell contributed a rapid 65 off 25 deliveries, propelling the Kiwis past previous scoring limits.

Early in the match, Indian bowler Mayank Yadav made an impact by dismissing Tim Seifert and Daryl Mitchell, finishing as one of the visiting team's notable bowlers despite conceding runs. New Zealand found stability initially through a 59-run stand between Phillips and Finn Allen before the explosive middle-order onslaught took over.

Facing a target of 260, India's chase collapsed almost immediately under intense pressure from the New Zealand bowling attack. Jacob Duffy dismantled the Indian top order in the opening overs, removing Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan before finishing with impressive figures of 4/29 in his four overs.

India struggled to maintain momentum as early exits from Abhishek Sharma and Shreyas Iyer dashed comeback hopes. Tilak Varma attempted to stabilize the innings with a hard-fought 35 runs, while Naman Dhir added 28. Lower-order contributions from Prince Yadav and Mayank Yadav helped push India to a final score of 172/9.

Reflecting on the performance, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner noted that the team exploited the steep bounce well and praised the batting display of Phillips and Bracewell. Meanwhile, Indian captain Shreyas Iyer admitted that his squad was not up to the mark with their bowling and needed to return to the drawing board.

With the series standing at 3-1 in favor of India, both teams will travel to Hamilton for the fifth and final T20I match scheduled to be played at Seddon Park.
