Real Valladolid Defeats CD Leganés 2-1 in LaLiga Hypermotion

The Real Valladolid secured a 2-1 victory against CD Leganés on Monday at the Estadio José Zorrilla in a match corresponding to the twelfth round of LaLiga Hypermotion. Central defender Miguel Rubio netted both goals for the home side from set-piece situations, while Álex Millán provided the temporary equalizing goal for the visitors.

The opening goal developed from a corner kick when Iván Alejo redirected the cross and Miguel Rubio headed the ball into the far post past goalkeeper Raúl Fernández. Leganés responded through an offensive sequence involving Dani Rodríguez, whose initial effort produced a rebound that Álex Millán gathered, cutting inside and finishing past goaltender Aceves.

The decisive second goal also originated from a corner kick. Miguel Rubio converted with a quick shot following a cross into the penalty area after the visiting defense failed to clear the danger. According to media reports from AS, the local squad experienced an explosive ten-minute resurgence during a difficult phase of the match.

Prior to the second goal, Leganés enjoyed a period of dominance and created scoring chances through Tai Abed, Yassine Kechta, and Millán, which forced saves from Aceves alongside several off-target attempts. Kechta tested the defense twice from outside the area, while Suncris sent a shot narrowly wide of the right post.

The encounter saw Real Valladolid manage an early substitution after Iván Garriel sustained a shoulder injury and received treatment on the sideline, temporarily leaving the hosts with ten players before Clerc entered the match. The home side entered the fixture following a defeat against Granada, whereas Leganés had drawn against Mallorca in their previous outing.

Before the opening whistle, both clubs shared identical statistics in the league table, holding 12 points after recording three wins, three draws, and five losses across their first eleven fixtures. Real Valladolid occupied the 16th position while Leganés sat in 17th place based on goal difference.

Coaches Fran Escribá and Luis Carrión addressed the media in their pre-match press conferences ahead of the fixture. The match at the José Zorrilla began with a moment of silence to honor victims of a recent railway accident in Toledo, with Real Valladolid wearing their traditional purple-and-white kit and Leganés appearing in black uniforms.

Following this fixture, both teams will advance their schedules within LaLiga Hypermotion. Real Valladolid is scheduled to face Real Sporting, while CD Leganés will prepare for their upcoming match against Albacete.
