Royal Caribbean Group announced its third-quarter financial results on October 27, 2026, surpassing Wall Street expectations and raising its full-year earnings guidance. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $6.57 for the quarter ended September 2026, beating the consensus estimate and marking its sixth consecutive quarter of exceeding profit expectations.

Total revenue for the quarter reached $5.59 billion, representing a significant year-over-year increase of about 9 percent compared to $5.14 billion in the same period last year. Net income reached $1.7 billion, or $6.45 per share, up from $1.6 billion, or $5.74 per share, a year earlier. The cruise operator welcomed 2.7 million guests during the quarter, achieving a strong load factor of 112 percent.

The better-than-expected performance was fueled by strong close-in demand for vacations in Europe and the Caribbean, alongside lower operational costs resulting from the timing of certain expenses shifted into the fourth quarter. These positive factors helped offset higher-than-anticipated fuel costs and unfavorable currency exchange rates during the quarter.

Reflecting the strong quarterly momentum, management raised its full-year 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $17.85 to $17.95. Jason Liberty, Chairman and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group, credited the results to sustained consumer demand for the company's vacation offerings. "Our third quarter results reflect continued strong consumer demand for our vacation experiences and the accelerated momentum across our industry leading brands," Liberty stated.

Looking ahead to 2027, the company reported that forward bookings are pacing ahead of historical levels at higher rates. Sailings for the upcoming year are currently booked in the high teens. This strong booking trajectory supports the company's long-term financial goals, keeping it on track to achieve its Perfecta target period objectives of delivering a 20 percent adjusted earnings per share compound annual growth rate from 2024 through 2027.

In addition to its cruise operations, Royal Caribbean recently announced an agreement to acquire a 50 percent interest in Sandals and Beaches Resorts, expanding its footprint into the all-inclusive resort category. The partnership, expected to close in early 2027 subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, aims to create cross-selling opportunities. According to company estimates, approximately 30 percent of Royal Caribbean guests also take all-inclusive vacations, offering a natural pathway to increase vacation frequency and expand the company's ecosystem.
