Terry Rozier Calls Out Miami Heat Guard Davion Mitchell on Social Media
Following a season-opening loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves, former Miami player Terry Rozier accused Davion Mitchell of copying his style and jersey number.
Terry Rozier has publicly accused Miami Heat guard Davion Mitchell of stealing his personal style and taking over his former jersey number. The remarks from the former Heat player added another layer of tension following his messy departure from the organization.
The social media callout followed Miami's opening-night loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rozier took to the internet to voice his thoughts after noticing Mitchell wearing his old number on the court.
"Son son got my whole swag on the court lmao thought the # was enough," Rozier wrote on social media, implying that Mitchell had copied far more than just his jersey digits.
In a follow-up message, Rozier clarified that his frustrations were not directed at the Miami Heat organization itself. He expressed appreciation that Mitchell acknowledged his style, noting that his aesthetic has been consistent since 2015 and emphasizing that the comments had nothing to do with team culture.
This public exchange arrived months after the Heat waived Rozier in April 2026. His departure followed an arrest connected to a federal sports betting investigation, where prosecutors alleged he shared information that aided bettors in profiting from wagers regarding his performance in a 2023 game against the Charlotte Hornets. Rozier has maintained his innocence and pleaded not guilty.
On the court, the Miami Heat suffered a tough 131-106 defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves during their season opener. Despite a strong performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo in his team debut, the home side fell short against Minnesota.
Antetokounmpo led Miami with 35 points and six rebounds, while Bam Adebayo contributed 15 points and seven assists. Davion Mitchell also had a notable individual performance during the game, recording a double-double with 11 points and 11 assists.
For the visiting Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards delivered a stellar performance with 45 points, 10 rebounds, and nine three-pointers to secure the dominant opening-night victory.
