The Golden State Warriors earned their first victory of the 2026-27 NBA season on Monday night, defeating the Denver Nuggets 134-114 at Ball Arena. Entering the matchup with an 0-3 record and missing several key contributors, the Warriors turned in a dominant performance on the road to hand Denver a decisive loss.

Golden State played without Jimmy Butler, Moses Moody, and Kristaps Porzingis, but received a massive boost from rookie Yaxel Lendeborg. Lendeborg led all scorers with 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, relentlessly attacking the rim and putting pressure on the Denver defense throughout the contest.

Stephen Curry had a quiet opening half but came alive after intermission, scoring 21 of his 24 points in the second half without missing a shot. Brandin Podziemski also delivered a stellar all-around performance for the visitors, contributing 18 points, seven boards, five assists, and a plus-33 rating as the Warriors never trailed after halftime.

The Nuggets struggled to generate consistent offense and fell behind by as many as 20 points during a game that left home fans in uncomfortable silence. DeMar DeRozan led Denver with 21 points off the bench, while Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray each added 19 points.

Denver played shorthanded without Cameron Johnson, Spencer Jones, Alpha Diallo, and Julian Strawther. Frustration boiled over for the Nuggets in the fourth quarter when Aaron Gordon was ejected with 8:34 remaining following arguments with officials over an illegal screen call.

The Warriors controlled the game through superior perimeter shooting and rebounding. Golden State out-rebounded Denver 50-36, capitalized on 23 second-chance points, and knocked down 50 percent of their 3-point attempts, while the Nuggets struggled from beyond the arc and allowed the visitors to pull away decisively.
