Grand Theft Auto VI has generated over $750 million in global pre-order sales with just weeks remaining until its official launch, according to recent analytics data. Analytics firm Sensor Tower reported that the upcoming open-world blockbuster has sold 7.71 million units across the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles as of November 3. The vast majority of these sales are concentrated on Sony's platform, with the PS5 accounting for $559 million of the total revenue and 5.74 million units sold. Meanwhile, Xbox Series consoles account for $192 million through 1.97 million units sold.

The financial momentum highlights strong consumer demand for Rockstar Games' latest production. Industry observers note that the title added over $100 million in revenue and sold nearly 1.3 million additional units in a span of just two weeks. Looking ahead to the game's debut, forecasting firms such as NewZoo project that the blockbuster could generate close to $5.2 billion during its launch week alone.

Alongside the commercial milestone, attention has turned to the technical preparations required for players to experience the game. Reports from tracking accounts such as PlayStation Game Size indicate that the standard PlayStation 5 edition will feature a download size of approximately 210 GB to 212 GB. While Rockstar Games has not officially confirmed the final install figures, the massive scale of the data matches expectations for a major open-world production set in Vice City and Leonida.

To help players manage the large file size before the November 19, 2026 release, Rockstar Games has confirmed a preload schedule. PlayStation 5 owners who pre-order the digital version will be able to begin downloading the game starting on November 10 or November 12, depending on regional rollout specifics, providing a multi-day window to complete the installation before the midnight launch.

Gamers preparing their systems have been advised to ensure adequate storage headroom on their solid-state drives. Because installation procedures frequently require temporary space beyond the initial download package, freeing up more than the reported 210 GB is recommended. Furthermore, industry reports note that boxed copies will include a download code rather than a physical disc, making a stable internet connection essential for all players eager to dive into the adventure on day one.
